PG Cooper: Movie Haikus Part One

Posted: July 22, 2012 by Daniel Simpson (PG Cooper) in Movie Poems

*I was recently part of a Writer’s Craft class. During our poetry unit, we hard to write a variety of poems about any subject of our choosing. Naturally, all of mine were about movies, and I thought I’d share some of them here.

My Old Friend

Thought he was a pal

Can’t open the pod-bay doors?

Good-bye HAL

We All Go A Little Mad

Norman Bates makes you shutter?

You don’t understand

A boy’s best friend is his mother

Dinner With Hannibal

Lectrer’s great you’ll see

Takes you out for fava beans

And a nice cianti

Montauk Memories

Thoughts collapse, memories fade

Joel sits alone

Wishing he’d stayed

A Viewer’s Odyssey

Kubrick’s masterpiece ain’t fun

It’s slow and boring

It’s 2001

For Antonio

Gangsters straight from Sicily

Forever strong

The Corleone family

  1. Ok, a) These are great. :D I want part 2.

    b) Are you praising or knocking 2001? 1 seems like you’re a fan but then A Viewer’s Odyssey, not so much….

Another great post, love the one for Silence of the lambs.
